Benjamin Keough, the grandson of Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 27, according to a representative for his mother, Lisa Marie Presley.

According to TMZ, Keough died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday in Calabasas, California.

The representative, Roger Widynowski, said he did not have further details on the circumstances of Keough’s death, even the date.

He said Presley is “entirely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley.”

Widynowski added, “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Presley had Benjamin and Riley, 31, with her former husband Danny Keough, who was a singer-songwriter. She divorced Danny in 1994. She also had twins from another marriage.

In 2019, Presley tweeted a photo of her family that included Benjamin. Many commented on his resemblance to his legendary grandfather.

Benjamin and his siblings were included in footage in Presley’s 2012 music video for the “duet” with Elvis for his song 1954 song “I Love You Because.” Singer Nancy Sinatra tweeted her condolences to Presley, writing, “I have known you since before your mama gave birth to you, never dreaming you would have pain like this in your life. I’m so very sorry.”
