Three renowned mental health professionals from the reputed universities said that President Donald Trump is mentally unfit for running the office and there is no exam needed.

    The three professionals include:

    • Dr. Leonard Glass, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical
    • Dr. Bandy Lee, Psychiatrist at Yale and Harvard Universities
    • Edwin Fisher, Public Health Professional and Clinical Psychologist at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill

They have contributed to “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” that contains essays from psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals on potential dangers that President Trump’s mental health poses to the United States.

They said Gail Collins, who is mostly recognized for her work with the New York Times, made a point that they have been serious about since the publication of the book in 2017 – President Trump is mentally unfit for office.

The professionals explained that the publication of their book was mocked as a violation of the “Goldwater Rule,” a section 7 in the American Psychiatric Association’s Principles of Medical Ethics. The rule states that it is unethical for mental health professionals to give an opinion about public figures without examining them in person.

However, they said, “As mental health professionals, we have felt a duty to address a public health crisis: a mentally unfit person in charge of the world’s most powerful military and its nuclear weapons.”

The experts explained they have ample evidence of Trump’s instability and grandiosity in his public statements and speeches. They said the president gives verbal threats and incites violence in his campaigns, posing a great risk to the nation and people. The writers said, “Our observations are not diagnosing and do not refer to mental illness; rather, they speak to a lack of fitness that can be determined based on sufficient sources outside of a personal examination.”
