According to a report by TMZ (Thirty Mile Zone), American singer-songwriter Britney Spears has reportedly checked herself into a mental health care center for 30 days.

Spears declared in January that she would not be performing in her new show “Domination” because she wanted to take care for her ailing father. In an Instagram post, dated January 4, Britney gave details about her father’s serious health problems.

The celebrity singer wrote, “A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.”

Her father has undergone two operations following his colon rupturing, according to TMZ.

E! News reported that her father, Jamie Spears, recovered well after his first surgery; however, his health deteriorated again, prompting for a second surgery and Britney’s check-in to a mental health care center.

Britney is very close to her father. In 2008, while she was under psychiatric treatment following public turmoil, her father looked for a court order to make decisions on behalf of her and become co-conservator. Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet were appointed as her co-conservators.

On Wednesday, she posted an image on Insta hours before checking herself into a facility, stating, “Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind. Body. Soul.” with the caption, “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time.’”

While Britney is finding it difficult to cope up with her father’s sickness, there is nothing else that is affecting her decision to make her take care of herself, according to an anonymous source. The source told People, “Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close, and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her — she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.”
