French Montana Hospitalized Probably For Heart Concern

The rapper had complaints of severe stomach pains, nausea, and an elevated heart rate.

According to officials, French Montana was hospitalized on Thursday, according to a Public Information Officer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The officer confirmed to PEOPLE that deputies responded to French’s Calabasas home just before 1:30 pm for a medical call.

The 35-year-old rapper was transported to a hospital, but the deputies did not disclose where he was taken and what he was treated for.

According to TMZ, the American-Moroccan rapper was reportedly experiencing severe stomach pains, nausea, and an elevated heart rate on Thursday.

Born as Karim Kharbouch, he is best known by his stage name French Montana. The news of his hospitalization has come a few weeks after he celebrated his birthday in Africa. He was raised in Morocco and immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 with his family.

In spite of the alarming hospitalization, French is said to be alert and awake. He is undergoing treatment and is expected to be discharged soon.

After the news of French’s hospitalization broke, his fans offered well wishes to the “Unforgettable” rapper on social media.

French will be releasing his third studio album, Montana, later this month. He is also set to kick off a series of tours from December 1, beginning in Tampa, Florida. And from there he will travel across the United States. He is also set to return to the stage in Paris in February and will conclude his tour dates in March in LA.
