Russian medical school graduate and Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova was found died in a suitcase Friday in the hallway of her Moscow apartment.
The 24-year-old aspiring dermatologist, who had more than 87,500 Instagram followers through her travels, was found dead by her family members.
According to the BBC reports, her family members contacted her property owner for access to her apartment after they failed to contact her for several days.
According to a local outlet MK, she suffered puncture wounds to her neck and chest. They reported, “She was planning a trip to the Netherlands to celebrate her birthday on July 30 with her new boyfriend when she was killed.”
Police said surveillance footage captured her ex-boyfriend briefly checking in her apartment in the days before her disappearance. However, they did not indicate whether he was the prime suspect of her killing. Police also said that they have not found a murder weapon yet.
A year ago, Karaglanova posted on her Instagram account that she received her diploma from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. She wrote, “We did it! These 6 years have not been for us an easy walk, but a real race for survival with obstacles.”
