TWICE fans are wishing Myoi Mina well after she pulled out of the band’s world tour due to extreme anxiety. The band is in the midst of their TWICELIGHTS tour, having played in Seoul, Bangkok, and Manila so far.
JYP Entertainment, the agency of TWICE, has confirmed that Mina will not be joining the group for the remaining dates because she has been suffering from “extreme anxiety and insecurity.”
JYP said, “Mina is currently struggling with sudden extreme anxiety and insecurity towards performing on stage. No exact diagnosis has been identified yet, and we are consulting with several medical professionals to verify the cause in detail.”
The agency added, “After extensive discussion with Mina and members of TWICE, we have decided that Mina’s current condition requires additional treatment, professional measures, and sufficient rest. Along with this decision, Mina will not be attending the following schedule: TWICE World Tour 2019 TWICELIGHTS.”
“Health of our artist is our top priority, so we will do everything possible to provide the best possible measures including medical treatment and sufficient rest for Mina’s recovery. We ask for the sincere support of fans so that Mina can recover soon,” added JYP.
TWICE fans have obliged with #GetWellSoonMina trending worldwide as they urged the ‘Fancy’ singer to recover quickly and focus on her health.
One fan tweeted. “Thank you for your hard work. Please rest as much as you can and take all the time you need. We’ll be here.”
Another wrote, “It’s so heartbreaking to hear the news but we hope you’re not being too hard on yourself. We will always continue to love & support you no matter what. Stay strong baby.”
