YouTube star, social media influencer, and makeup artist Ethan Peters, aka ‘Ethan Is Supreme,’ passed away at the age of 17, according to his father Gerald Peters.
Gerald confirmed his son’s death to Fox News on Sunday afternoon. He found his son in his bedroom at around 11 am.
His father told the network that he is certain the cause of Ethan’s death is drug overdose, although no official ruling has been released.
Gerald told Fox News, “The cancel culture we find ourself
in weighed heavy on his heart. He wanted nothing but to inspire, make people laugh and push the boundaries of what is acceptable in our world for all young people.”
“He was kind soul, who accepted everyone for who they were,” he added.
According to PEOPLE, Peters launched his YouTube channel on April 24, 2017. And by 2019, he accumulated over 140,000 YouTube subscribers and more than a million Instagram followers.
The beauty world is mourning his Ethan’s loss, especially his best friend, Ava Louise, and fellow influencers, such as Tana Mongeau and Manny MUA.
Louise tweeted, “My best friend in the entire world, my twin flame…..the only person there for me when I had no one. I love you Ethan, I am at a loss for words. I wish I knew how bad it was. I know what you’d want me to say to the internet rn but I’m too heartbroken to say it. Rip.”
Louise also expressed remorse that she did not respond more strongly when he needed help for what she suspected was a drug addiction. However, she said she had been trying.
“Addiction is a disease,” she tweeted. “I had to pull Ethan aside in recent weeks and have talks with him about his usage. Everyone close to him was scared. I just wish I f–king tried harder.” Manny MUA expressed similar sentiments, tweeting, “Rest in peace Ethan. You were so incredibly talented at such a young age. I pray for his family and loved ones, a horrible loss.”
