Anna Victoria shared that she has been struggling to get pregnant approximately three months ago. At that time, she said that she had resorted to intrauterine insemination (IUI) to conceive. However, after undergoing several months of the fertility procedure, the fineness influencer said that she has now decided to stop trying.

In her new YouTube video, Victoria shared that the procedures were getting too much for her and her husband, Luca Ferriti. She said, “We were really just too overwhelmed and stressed and exhausted, mentally, and Luca had a hard time seeing me go through everything with all the injections. So we decided to just take a break from it all.”

Initially, Victoria stopped taking her thyroid medicine, hoping that whether it was preventing her from getting pregnant.

After undergoing a series of tests, her doctors advised her to stay on her medication to manage her health. She also took vitamin D supplements, but that did not seem to help her either.

The fitness enthusiast asked her doctors to get her progesterone levels checked, which were below the normal levels. At the same time, she got to know about MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolatereductase) gene mutation, a condition in which the body fails to break down folic acid.

Folic acidis one of the most important vitamins for fetal development during the early stages of pregnancy. So, women with MTHFR can have an increased risk for preeclampsia, miscarriages, or have a baby born with birth defects. Her doctors, however, felt that the gene mutation should not have an impact on her ability to get pregnant.

Finally, she was advised to try a gluten-free and dairy-free diet, surprising Victoria. She said, “I don’t have celiac’s disease, I’m not gluten intolerant, I don’t have adverse side-effects to either of those things.”

Well, going dairy and gluten-free did not help Victoria. Rather, she and her husband decided to take a break to remove all the pressure and stress.

Victoria said, “We were hoping, like everyone says, that as soon as you stop trying, it’ll happen. Which is NOT always the case. It was not the case for us. I know that probably a lot of you are hoping to have a happy announcement in this video, which there’s not. It’s okay.”

Now, they have prepared for the next step and decided to go with in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Victoria said, “It’s been 19 months now that we’ve been trying to conceive. I know that I’m young, I know that I have time, I know that we don’t need to be in a rush, but I’m just kind of tapped out on the two week wait [with IUI] and the mental and emotional ups and downs, so we decided that we are starting IVF this month.”

She added, “I know it’s gonna be physically, mentally and emotionally really hard on me but I am up for the challenge. Most things happen for a reason. We don’t know that reason yet, but we have faith that we will find out some day.”
