On Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that a pharmaceutical company has recalled its male enhancement dietary supplements because they were tainted with a prescription drug.

Motto International Corp. has voluntarily recalled all lots of “Bull Platinum 30000,” “Stallion Platinum 30000,” “Rhino 7 Platinum 30000,” and “Panther Platinum 30000,” which are sold as male enhancement dietary supplements.

The FDA found that all of these products have been tainted with undeclared tadalafil, a prescription drug recommended for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and benign prostate enlargement.

The presence of tadalafil in these dietary supplements renders them unapproved drugs and their safety and efficacy have not been established which is why they are subjected to recall.

Taking products with undeclared tadalafil could be a great threat to people who take prescription drugs such as nitrates (nitroglycerin) for chest pain or any other condition.

Nitrates and tadalafil are known to reduce your blood pressure levels, and if taken together, they reduce your blood pressure to potentially dangerous levels, requiring hospitalization. People who have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, or diabetes often take nitrates.

Motto International Corp. said it has not received any reports of adverse events related to the recall so far.

The company is notifying all of its customers by email and has been arranging for the replacement of recalled products at the request of the customer.

People who have purchased the products in October should stop taking it and return them to the company. Consumers are advised to see their doctor if they have experienced any side effects after taking any of the products. Consumers who have any questions regarding the recall can contact the company via email at mottoic@gmail.com or by phone at 469-644-4398 on Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
