Viagra Connect, which is available only in the United Kingdom, has launched the new trial size 2 pack for pharmacy retailers, which will be available at an acceptable entry price.

Actively composed of sildenafil citrate, Viagra is one of the blockbuster drugs for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED) – a condition characterized by the inability to attain or sustain an erection.

Viagra Connect is considered one of the most valuable products in pharmacy and the new launch will drive new men with ED into stores, helping pharmacies with the opportunity to increase footfall.

The launch is supported by a marketing campaign, which includes TV, digital, print, and out-of-home advertisements. Also, new training materials have been provided to pharmacies so they can be better equipped to handle awkward situations.

The training aims to facilitate a better understanding of the possible causes of ED, allowing pharmacists to offer additional support, such as advising men with ED to quit smoking, lose weight, and manage stress.

Viatris marketing director Rob Elliot said, “Our ambition for the new 2 pack is to encourage trial among men who need it, making the trusted Viagra Connect brand easier to access.”

Viatris was formed in November. It was formed of the combination of Mylan and the Upjohn division of Pfizer.

“We also continue to invest in the training and development of pharmacy staff so they will be better equipped to deal with what can be a sensitive topic to discuss, and have developed an extensive, easy to use, training program available now,” he added.

The new launch coupled with the new training materials and consumer activation can provide pharmacies with an opportunity to increase footfall, establishing relationships with new customers who are looking for guidance on both ED and other health issues in the near future.
